Contrary to what you read in the media, fixing America’s fiscal and monetary mess is NOT purely the responsibility of several million government bureaucrats led by a temporary horde of elected idiots. In fact, if you think about that for a moment, several million government bureaucrats led by a temporary horde of elected idiots are the LAST people you’d want messing with America’s fiscal and monetary mess. Talk about your #1 all time bad idea!
That’s why this video and this group gets the coveted “post of the day” on Cato’s Domain. The people who put this all together … who are advancing organization in a maelstrom of confusion, who are advocating sanity in a hurricane of empty rhetoric … are all private citizens now. Some have been Senators and Congressmen, some not. They are liberals and conservatives in equal measure. But none of them are in it for campaign contributions from unions and corporations, re-election and power. They are leading out of love of country and duty alone.
They are worth listening to.
This video is the best and most important 8 minutes you will spend today. Share it with your holiday guests. Share it with best friends. Your family. Your kids especially. They are the ones, after all, who will have to pay.
At the bottom of this post is a link to an archive of videos like this one but on specific topics. Most are less than four minutes. There are also four long forums, the first of which is here. The others can be found on the homepage. But start with this overview and get involved. Hey, this IS your country. Isn’t it?

Former U.S. senators Sam Nunn (D-GA), Pete Domenici (R-NM), Warren Rudman (R-NH), and Evan Bayh (D-IN) have convened a bipartisan group of former senators and representatives to come together for four forums to raise public consciousness of the country’s growing and unsustainable debt.
